Destini Bishop-James
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MBA, CFSW, LCSWA
My clinical concentration has mostly focused on teens and adults in acute inpatient psychiatric facilities. I specialize in solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy that targets anxiety, depression, relationships, and clients that are dealing with big transitions or adjustments in their lives. I am committed to educating all people on the importance of cultivating a healthy relationship with self. Coupled with the introduction of healthy financial information and practical application, my dream is to see my clients freed from financial trauma, triggers, and unhealthy emotional and mental states.
I cultivate a safe environment for clients to address the unhealthy & challenging mental states that keep them in a stuck or sunken place. I use solution focused and behavioral modalities to support each client with building healthy & safe boundaries.
Life does not come with an instruction manual. Everyone of our stories are unique and is accompanied by our own challenges. Whether you are finding it hard to make it through the day, you feel alone, anxious, or you are having some transitions in your life that you need support working through, I can offer support. Don't hesitate to reach out!

"Change can be scary, talking about your innermost thoughts and feelings can be
scary, allowing someone to see you vulnerable can be scary...the first step is to
show up, even if you show up scared!
Sometimes the bravest & most important
things you can do is just show up"- Brene Brown
I have a passion for helping to empower people to find their own voice and to
utilize the skills they already possess, while being the conduit for their own growth
and healing. I am passionate about working with individuals dealing with trauma,
anxiety, anger, depression, ADHD, or parenting skills needs.
I believe that engaging in therapy is a partnership where we work together to
achieve goals that you have set for yourself. We work together with you being the
expert of your own life and abilities, while I serve as a support willing to meet you
where you are and be patient enough to allow you to grow at your own pace. I look
forward to partnering with you!

I am most passionate about working with minorities/people of color, teens, college students, and adult women. Shout out to you for taking this step of finding the right therapist.
